Hara empowers an end-to-end environmental and energy business process from reporting to reduction to help organizations improve operational efficiency, maximize value and manage risk. Hara customers include leading organizations such as Aerojet, Akamai, City of Las Vegas, City of Palo Alto, City of Philadelphia, Coca-Cola, Diebold, Hasbro, Intuit, News Corporation and Safeway. The company is funded by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, JAFCO, and Nth Power.
Hara has announced the immediate availability of the Hara™ Environmental and Energy Management (EEM) Fall 2010 Release, the company’s seventh and most significant product release to date.
In the growing market of environmental and energy management, Hara has emerged as a leader through consistent product delivery, customer deployments and domain expertise. The company has seen rapid growth in customer adoption since it disrupted the market 16 months ago with the launch of Hara EEM, a cloud-based solution that enables organizations to strategically manage and optimize their energy and natural resource usage and identify and execute efficiency strategies across the enterprise and value chain.
The new Hara Value Chain solution was developed specifically in response to customer demand for a solution to help organizations drive greater natural resource and energy efficiencies outside of their four walls and to help them better track and manage environmental data across various supplier and partner networks. The solution features advanced capabilities that enable organizations to manage environmental information from across partners both upstream and downstream, including suppliers of product goods and services, transportation providers, third party warehouse and logistics providers. The solution enables customers to engage suppliers and other value chain partners to drive efficiencies and cost savings across the entire value chain while meeting and exceeding their obligations under various supply chain mandates from customers or their investor community.
“We help customers focus on the long-term health and profitability of their business, which increasingly means integrating sustainability into their business operations,” said Kathy Nieland, Partner, US Sustainability & Climate Change Leader at PricewaterhouseCoopers. “The market needs are becoming more demanding and sophisticated, especially in the areas of reporting, analysis, value chain, logistics and asset level energy efficiency. Through the use of advanced technology, such as Hara EEM, companies are better able to measure their overall impact on the environment and engage stakeholders to achieve joint efficiencies and cost savings.”
Additional Hara EEM Fall 2010 release highlights include:
•Global Language Support – Hara EEM provides broad global reach and is now available in multiple additional languages including Chinese (Simplified), French, German, Japanese Portuguese (Brazilian) and Spanish. •Support for EPA Mandatory Reporting Rule (MRR) – Through the extension of program reporting capabilities customers in power generation and other energy intensive industries are now empowered to meet reporting obligations under EPA MRR. •Asset Level Energy Efficiency - Enhanced capabilities to better understand and optimize energy efficiency at the individual asset level, such as HVACs, refrigerators, boilers and process furnaces.
Deployed in over 90 countries, Hara EEM manages and optimizes enterprise-wide energy, resources, and emissions, helping organizations report and reduce their energy consumption. Hara works with leading companies and government organizations to establish each client’s environmental and energy record, identify and prioritize reduction projects, and implement best practices.
“We are exceptionally proud of Hara’s pace of innovation and our track record for delivering real value to customers in the form of energy and cost reductions,” said Udo Waibel, Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder, Hara. “The continued rapid speed to market of Hara EEM has allowed us to respond quickly to our global customer base and their evolving business requirements. By expanding our innovation portfolio with critical new capabilities such as Hara Value Chain, we are at the forefront of evolving our market while ensuring that our solutions help organizations meet corporate sustainability initiatives, reduce operating costs and natural resource consumption and drive continued energy efficiencies.”
